Welcome to BYO Dallas, a podcast that pays tribute to Big D.
Host Drew Hamilton sits down with Dallas luminaries for casual interviews. Sounds boring, right? Well, it might be if the interviews were as boring as that sentence structure. But that’s just not the case, Sparky.
Why? Because the guests on this show pick the location of the interviews. Rather than have them on edge in some dusty podcast studio where they’d sit with their arms folded answering questions in a defensive manner, this savvy host gets them to loosen up by letting them pick a spot around town in which they’re comfortable from the get go. That’s what marketing folks like to call “the secret sauce.”
The point is to find out why our guests make Dallas home and then fire off as many questions as possible before they start looking at their watches. Or maybe they won’t even wear a watch!
BYO Dallas. Drew brings the guests. Guests bring the Dallas.
Speaking of guests, here’s the most recent show…
Navy SEAL veteran Ryan “Birdman” Parrott and general renaissance man Wayne McCullough join host Drew Hamilton at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. Birdman talks about the Bird’s Eye View Project and Sons of the Flag charities he runs, how he got the nickname “Birdman,” and the crazy story of running from Waco to Dallas in 24 hours. Wayne recounts his rough upbringing, gives his thoughts on CrossFit, and talks about a movie he co-produced called “The Heart of Man.”
